I stumbled across this video on youtube the other night and was completely blown away, not to mention border line disturbed.
This video ad features Rick Genest, a.k.a Zombie Boy, who is famous world-wide for his interesting body art. Needless to say, the brand did an excellent job marketing this line of make-up. Not only is it shocking, it's relevant. Think about it; this is the solution for people who are more scared of lasers than needles!
In today's society, a surprising number of people have tattoos. According to Vanishingtattoo.com, 40% of people aged 26-40 have one of more of them. Even Barbie is rocking a tramp stamp! A considerable amount of people probably regret that bad-ass skull next to their right nipple. Using a tattoo celebrity as an endorsement method is absolutely brilliant idea. Probably the opposite of what Zombie Boy will be thinking in the next 20 years or so mind you. Am I the only one that sees a hint of regret 1:20 seconds in?
After watching the ad, I immediately watched the "behind the scenes" video. I then creeped his website. I figured he had an addiction to tattoos. It turns out the reason is much more rational. You see, you initially wanted to be a ninja turtle and live in the sewers. He then aspired to become a zombie instead. That's a WAY better idea, don't you agree?
I lived in Montreal my entire life. How have I not crossed paths with this guy?! If you are as fascinated by this Montreal model as I am, you can check him out at rickgenest.com, or you can see him in Lady Gaga's music video, Born This Way. Be sure the check out the behind the scenes video as well!
